Looking for a great FFL that is responsive to your calls? Available when you need one? Well look no further.
Golden State Tactical will make your firearm transfer a quick, efficient and pleasant process. One you will use again and again, maybe even tell your friends about. Here's how it works-
How to purchase and transfer your firearm:1: Search the internet and local gun stores to find the type of firearms you would like to purchase. Know what you want; detail, detail, detail. We cannot search for you. You will need to determine, Manufacturer's Name, Model Names, Model Numbers, and all other specifics, including, barrel length, size, sights, color, and caliber etc.
2: Email your findings to Sales@Goldenstatetactical.com . It is also helpful if you provide us with a link to a web site page that shows your gun and model number etc. You may also call Rob at Golden State Tactical, please see the "About Us" section of this website for contact information.
You have 2
options:
OPTION A. - Purchase the firearm from the dealer or auction and have it sent to us for transfer. The Dealer or seller will need to have our FFL number and a certified copy of our license. Send us an e-mail with the contact information of the seller and we'll take it from there. We need the FAX NUMBER/E-MAIL ADDRESS, TRANSACTION NUMBER AND NAME OF THE DEALER YOU BUY FROM. You will also be responsible to pay CA sales tax on your purchase from an out of state retailer.(Go to Step 4)
OR
OPTION B. - Let us purchase the firearm for you. We will need you to allow us time to secure the firearm that you are looking for and at the price you will accept. We will use our extensive wholesale network to find the firearm you want. If we cannot find it thru our Wholesalers, we will let you know and then gladly transfer one that you purchase in for you. Note: This option does not work for purchases from a private party or for a used gun. We are unable to purchase these for you (use Option A).
Note: If you choose option B, you will then receive a price quote via Email. The quote it is not yet a sale. If you like our price and decided to purchase the firearm from Golden State Tactical, we will ensure that your purchase is an efficient, legal, and a pleasant experience.
3: If you like the quote and you then decide to purchase from us, we will need you to make a deposit or pay the full amount of the purchase. Which amount we use will be a mutual decision between You and Golden State Tactical. A minimum deposit of $100.00 is required. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE WE PURCHASE THE FIREARM FOR YOU, YOU ARE ON THE HOOK FOR THE GUN. If you change your mind, we reserve the right to charge you a restocking fee of 75.00.
At Golden State Tactical,
we accept many forms of payment including: Cash, Visa, Master Card, American Express & Discover and Debit Cards. We do not accept personal checks.
4: Once the item is received from the seller or wholesaler or has been purchased from us, we will contact you to begin the DROS Process. For Long guns, there is no need to wait until the firearm arrives to begin the DROS process. For handguns, the firearm must be in our possession to start the paperwork.
What is the DROS process? All firearms sales require a background check and 10 day wait in California. This check is started by an in-person, face-to-face appointment. At this time we will complete the CA Dept of Justice Dealer Record of Sale (DROS) and various applicable safety and background documentation. All DROS and Dealer transfer fees are required at this point and are non-refundable.
5: The CA Dept. of Justice will notify Golden State Tactical of a denial of our ability to proceed with the transfer of your firearm. NO News is good news here! The DOJ may also request that a "hold" be put on your purchase because additional information is needed. Note: A “DOJ Hold” may constitute more than a ten-day waiting period.
Upon approval by the DOJ, there is a required ten (10) 24 hour periods waiting period, and you may NOT pick-up your firearm purchase until the full ten days has passed. The Dept. of Justice has full control over the "delivery" or "denial" of your firearm. Your approval or denial decisions are based on your background check by the CA Dept of Justice and NICS. This Federal NICS system and DOJ background check is a mandatory requirement for the sale, transfer and title of firearms ownership.
When you purchase a firearm from Golden State Tactical, payment in full is required prior to delivery of the firearm to you.
Transfer and DROS fees are non-refundable. Please make sure you can pass your background check. 6: We know the paperwork and certifications may feel like overkill, and we certainly appreciate you working with us so that your transaction goes as quickly and smoothly as possible. However the paperwork is necessary to assure that your purchase is in full accordance with Federal ATF , DOJ, and California state laws. Our goal is to provide you with the very best service available, one that you will use again and again.
